Perched high on a hill overlooking the endless, iconic valleys of the Itria Valley, lies a completely unique and perfectly circular settlement that seems utterly separated from the world below.
The town’s whitewashed stone houses are built seamlessly against one another in a brilliant white spiral, creating an atmosphere so silent and pristine it feels genuinely ethereal and untouched.
The isolation of the hilltop makes it a spectacular, secret destination.

The breathtaking destination we’ve uncovered is Locorotondo, a pristine, stunning town in the agricultural heartland of the Puglia region of Southern Italy.
Its name, which means "Round Place," perfectly describes its unusual concentric layout, making it a spectacular piece of urban design straight out of the 17th century.
This dazzling white village offers an unforgettable holiday for keen walkers and photographers seeking the quiet beauty of rural Italy.
Locorotondo’s charming secret is the cummerse, its unique, small-scale houses with sharply sloping roofs built from dry stone, which are utterly unlike the flat roofs found in other Puglian towns.

These architectural peculiarities, built to withstand the elements high on the hill, make the narrow, winding streets feel even more labyrinthine and forgotten.
Strolling through the central ring of the village offers an eerie sense of stepping back to a much simpler, quieter time.
When planning your visit, be mindful that the historic centre is small and designed for walking, not driving, so comfortable boots are a must.
You will find dedicated car park spaces around the base of the hill and outside the main perimeter walls, but spaces can be competitive during the peak holiday season.
Ensure your boot is packed with water and sun protection, as the high, exposed hilltop offers very little shade from the fierce Apulian sun.
