Many travellers head to Dubai for its sunshine and shopping, but this lesser-known spot could be an even better choice.
A travel expert has highlighted a hidden gem that offers luxury holidays at a fraction of the cost of a summer trip to the Mediterranean.
Ajman, a ‘Dubai dupe,’ is quickly becoming a top destination for those looking for a high-end getaway without the hefty price tag.
Visitors can enjoy five-star resorts and premium experiences for less than half the cost of destinations like Mallorca or the Amalfi Coast during peak season.
Located close to Dubai, this neighbouring emirate offers everything from fine dining to luxury spas but with a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere.
Ajman, the smallest of the seven Emirates, has all the glamour of Dubai but with a more traditional Emirati feel.
With its lively souks and historic sites, visitors can get a glimpse into the rich culture and heritage of the UAE.
The destination is growing in popularity, with an 11 percent rise in tourist arrivals between January and September compared to the same period in 2023.

“Ajman has been steadily investing in its tourism, with new luxury resorts, golf courses, and nature reserves to explore.
“It’s perfect for those who want a smaller, more intimate escape but still expect the world-class service and luxury the UAE is famous for.
“One of Ajman’s best features is that it caters to all travellers. Families can enjoy Funtastico Water Park, couples can relax in top-class spas, and adventure-seekers can try desert safaris or watersports along its stunning 16-kilometre coastline.
“Ajman’s culture is also a huge draw. Visitors can explore the Ajman Museum, set in a historic 18th-century fort, or experience Bedouin traditions like starlit camping and the village life of Masfout.”
