Places like Prague and Strasbourg have some of the world’s most famous festive markets, but Germany is known for bringing Christmas to life in almost every town.
Cities including Dresden, Nuremberg and Frankfurt host some of the best-known markets, but people are only now discovering another one hidden in the Black Forest, and it looks like something from a storybook.
“Not enough people know about this magical Christmas market under a railway,” one TikTok video said, showing an amazing aerial shot of the market glowing at night.

It’s important to know that the shuttle bus costs 3€ (£2.60) per person, and the walk to the market can be tricky as some parts are quite steep.
Even so, this didn’t seem to put people off, as loads of viewers rushed to the TikTok comments to talk about their own trips.
“I visited Ravenna Gorge last year. It’s just as beautiful in real life,” one person shared. Someone else added: “I went in 2022, it was amazing.”
“I really want to go here,” another viewer said, with many others saying the same thing. One more person wrote: “This looks incredible, so lovely.”

Ravenna Gorge is tucked inside the Black Forest in southwest Germany.
Every year, a Christmas market appears beneath a huge stone viaduct that lights up in different colours, with more than 40 stalls selling handmade gifts and tasty local food.
“The market is only open on certain weekends in November and December,” they explained, adding that places to stay nearby start from £64 per person.
