The Spanish city where Brits get the “best value” for their money has now been revealed.
The finding comes from a new study by Spanish tutor James Smith, who has “extensive living experience” across the country.
He said this city takes first place, earning an impressive “Holiday Value Score” of 79.34, which looks at the cost of accommodation, food and things to do.
According to James, this makes it “the ultimate destination for budget-conscious Brits.”

Although hotel prices average £126.16 a night, the city “more than makes up for it with incredibly affordable dining” costing just £29.50 for a meal for two, and cheap beer at £1.19 a bottle.
Public transport is also very inexpensive at £0.93 per ticket, and attractions come in at an average of £20.08, the tutor explained.
“Cádiz is a hidden treasure that British tourists often miss,” he said. “It’s one of Europe’s oldest cities with beautiful beaches and amazing history, yet it gives some of the best value anywhere in Spain.”
The information James used came from Booking.com for hotel prices, Numbeo for everyday costs, and TripAdvisor for the cost of attractions.
All of the prices were then converted into pound sterling using average exchange rates.

The expert continued: “Spain is usually cheaper than the UK, but some cities stand out even more by offering excellent value while still providing rich cultural and leisure experiences.
“What makes these top destinations special isn’t just their low prices, but the way they stay affordable across every part of a holiday, from where you stay to what you eat and do.
“These places offer real Spanish culture, amazing history and local character at prices that stretch your money further.
“For Brits thinking about moving to Spain or planning a longer trip, understanding these cost differences can save thousands, while also helping them discover some of the country’s most interesting places.”
