As autumn arrives and the days begin to grow shorter and cooler, the Greek island of Kos stays warm and sunny, making it a brilliant place to escape to.
Set in the Aegean Sea and part of the beautiful Dodecanese islands, this gem is well known for its lovely beaches, gentle weather, and long history.
In October, the island enjoys daily highs of around 26°C, which is perfect for a late-season break.

With around eight hours of sunshine a day and light breezes of about 4.1 mph, visitors can enjoy comfortable, pleasant conditions. October does bring a little more rain, with around 55 mm falling during the month, but most days stay dry, especially at the start.
Later in the month, the clouds begin to show more often, but early October still gives the best chance for bright, sunny days and great beach weather.
Kos is loved not just for its beaches but also for its deep historical roots, reports the Express.
It is famously known as the birthplace of Hippocrates, the ancient Greek doctor often called the father of medicine.

This rich past gives your trip an extra spark, as you can wander around old ruins and historic spots while enjoying the island’s scenery.
Along the shore, there are many lovely beaches to choose from, including quiet hidden bays and lively sandy stretches.
Whether you love relaxing in the sun or splashing in the water, Kos has something for everyone.
The warm October temperatures mean the sea is still great for swimming and trying out water sports. Visiting Kos outside the busy summer months also gives you a calmer, more relaxed experience.
