This beautiful little island is far less crowded than some of Greece's more famous destinations.
The hidden gem, though lesser-known than the others, is perfect for anyone seeking a quiet and relaxing holiday away from busy tourist areas—but it may not remain a secret for long.
Once mainly a vacation spot for Greeks, locals say that more and more international travellers are starting to visit this hidden gem.

Located on the southwestern edge of the Cyclades, Kimolos is only 900 metres from its more popular neighbour, Milos.
Daily connections between the two islands are available, with options from open-deck boats and traditional trawlers to speedboat taxis departing from Kimolos’ harbour.
With a population of around 900 residents, most of whom live in the charming village of Chorio, Kimolos is among the smallest islands in the Cyclades.
Life on Kimolos remains tied to tradition, with many locals relying on farming and fishing for their livelihoods.

The island is not only blessed with scenic volcanic landscapes but also rich in minerals due to its chalk-mining history.
This connection is even reflected in its name—“kimolia” being the Greek word for chalk.
Kimolos is celebrated for its mix of sandy and pebbled beaches, as well as its peaceful, secluded coves.
Like other islands in the Cyclades, Kimolos is known for its whitewashed houses, cobbled streets, and vibrant Chora village, all of which add to its friendly, local charm.
Combined with its sunny climate, Kimolos is a truly captivating destination.
In September, temperatures on Kimolos are warm, averaging around 26°C during the day and cooling to 19°C at night.
Flights from the UK to Greece are frequent from most major airports, and fares can be quite affordable, depending on travel dates.
