With the recent spell of sunshine across England, it is easy to see why many people are starting to plan their next beach getaway.
However, with the Easter school holidays and bank holidays coming up fast, choosing the right place can be tricky, especially for those who want to avoid busy tourist resorts.
Luckily, Europe still has a handful of lesser known places that are affordable and not packed with visitors.

One of these is Kallithea, which offers a calm and relaxing break. According to Wizz Air, it is among the least crowded Easter destinations for sun lovers wanting an early beach escape.
Kallithea is a resort area on the island of Rhodes and is well known for its beaches, especially Kallithea Beach with its clear, shallow water. It is also home to the famous Kallithea Springs, known for their healing waters and striking design.
To reach Kallithea on Rhodes, travellers should fly into Diagoras International Airport, which is the closest airport and sits around 12.1 kilometres away.
There are plenty of direct flights from the UK to Diagoras Airport, which is the main airport serving Rhodes.
The average flight cost is around £264, and airlines offering direct routes include Ryanair, easyJet and Jet2.

The journey from the airport to Kallithea is roughly 17 kilometres and usually takes about 19 minutes by car. Those choosing to travel by taxi can expect to pay between £19 and £24.
Hotel prices in Kallithea vary depending on the time of year and the type of accommodation.
On average, prices range from around £39 to £188 per night, with the busiest summer months from June to August costing much more than the quieter winter period.
The area also has several interesting places to explore, including a viewing point close to the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church.
“This place offers the chance to take amazing panoramic photos of Kallithea, which in Greek means beautiful view,” travel blog Aktis explains.
Visitors can also explore the remains of the Temple of Ammon Zeus, wander through the village streets and enjoy traditional Greek food at local restaurants.
