This island nation in the South Pacific is home to some of the world’s most untouched beaches and hidden landscapes.
This hidden gem, located in the South Pacific Ocean, boasts some of the most pristine beaches and secluded spots, surrounded by lush forests and endless coastlines.
The name translates to ‘our land forever’ in the local Melanesian languages. This small country consists of about 80 islands stretching over 1,300 kilometres, with a population of just 300,000 people.

With its tropical climate, Vanuatu enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year. The best time to visit is between April and October, when temperatures range from 18°C to 28°C.
Despite its ideal climate and vast natural beauty, Vanuatu surprisingly attracts very few tourists, with just 65,000 visitors in 2022.
In contrast, nearby destinations like Fiji see millions of visitors annually, making Vanuatu one of the least-visited countries globally, ranking alongside places like Samoa and Bhutan.

The people of Vanuatu include native Ni-Vanuatu and communities from Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, and China, many of whom have settled permanently on the islands.
Without an Indigenous written language, French and English are the official languages, reflecting the influence of British and French rule before Vanuatu gained independence in 1980.
Vanuatu’s culture is a vibrant mix of Melanesian traditions and colonial history, with storytelling, music, and dance forming an essential part of life for the Ni-Vanuatu people.
Local festivals and customs are deeply tied to myths and legends, often represented through striking masks and tattoos used in traditional rituals.
