Top Tips
1. Climb Sigiriya before 7am. The extraordinary rock is coolest and least crowded at dawn.

3. Hire a car with driver. Sri Lankan roads require local knowledge and a driver frees you for sightseeing.
4. Anuradhapura requires a full day. The extraordinary UNESCO city is larger than most visitors expect.
5. Pidurangala is the finest Sigiriya photo viewpoint. Do both on the same morning for the extraordinary combination.
